Great place to stay at when doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The shuttle departs/arrives right outside and there is an option to rent any hiking gear from reception ($5 per walking pole). We stayed in a private, ensuite and it was very clean and the bed was comfy and shower pressure good .
We rented one of the twin rooms with en-suite. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean, including the kitchen area. Great location and very cheap compared to other options nearby.

we stayed here 2 nights, doing the Tongariro Crossing in-between. It's a well-run, well-organised backpackers lodge with a good kitchen/dining facility and chilled food-storage.
Very clean bedroom and bathroom with a large shared kitchen facility with huge glass fridges and plenty of cooking utensils all at a fantastic price. The service was amazing, always someone on the desk during business hours to look after you quickly.
